Healthcare Workers

Ahead Start partners with healthcare specialists of all kinds, so together we can help families support a child's unique challenges. Whether you're a pediatrician or a day care team member, we know we can make your job easier and more fulfilling when we partner to help a child grow.

We're in this together.

You want to help children and families grow stronger. So do we.

That's why we've found from experience that we make such good partners with pediatricians and child care workers. The state's early intervention program supports our work financially. As a result, we can help families without any out-of-pocket expense on their part.

We also help to coordinate all of the family's therapy services, which often makes your work easier, too. If you're interested in starting a relationship, contact us today.

Does the state really support Early Intervention?

Yes, through BabyNet for children 0-3, and through the Department of Disabilities and Special Needs for children above three. If a child qualifies, money is also provided through the appropriate organization that enables us to help.

How can Ahead Start help me, personally and professionally?

We believe in partnerships with a family's healthcare providers. You get an advocate on the inside of the family life, and we get to help you understand what goes on in the home. In addition, we find that our service coordination often takes a lot of work off your plate.

How can I refer a child to you?

As a primary referral source, you are required to make a referral as soon as possible. If you're referring a child aged 0-3, you can fill out a BabyNet referral form. If the child is over age 3, let the family know that they can call the Department of Disabilities and Special Needs to refer their child (1-888-376-4636). We also provide a helpful walkthrough for each of these here on our website.
